Kit overhauling primary driven gear flange avional aluminium, reinforced and balanced for racing engines smallframe The reinforced flange extends the bell and gear lifetime by enabling the springs of the primary driven gear to work correctly. useful information: 1) it prevents the spring from coming out 2) disassembling of the original primary driven gear. engrave the head of the riveted pint (discs side) with a hammer and graver in order to centre the drilling. drill with a bit diam. 2.5 - 3 a pre-hole 5mm deep. drill with a bit diam. 6.5, centre the pre-hole and slowly drill down until the head of the pins comes off. this makes it possible to disassemble the deep-drawn flange that is ready to be reused. if the flange is damaged, replace it with a new one. 3) you can leave the 4 springs of the primary driven gear in their crown housings; the same applies to the basket. proceed with the assembly of the flange by fitting the springs in the relevant outlets, insert the zinc-coated spacers with the threaded holes, the deep-drawn flange, and the 4 screws with a few drops of strong locking agent (usually identified with the colour green) 4) piaggio crankcases are not all the same, therefore some interferences might occur. make sure that the neck around the ball bearing of the bell (on the crankcase) is not greater than diam. 58mm. the first versions of 3m crankcases had a 58mm wider neck. once the bell is inserted in the crankcase bearing, check the rotation of the bell. adjust the interfering points until the maximum smoothness is reached.
